More About Helene
Helene Raynaud is CCCSMD’s President and CEO. She joined the agency in January 2016 with extensive experience in the credit and housing counseling industry. Prior to joining CCCSMD, Helene worked at the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) for 10 years, most recently as their Chief Operating Officer. During her tenure, she was responsible for strategic planning, program and partnership development, and fundraising. Helene has experience managing federal and non-federal grants and programs in the areas of housing counseling, financial counseling and financial coaching. She managed one of the largest National HUD Intermediaries from 2008-2013, generating over $60M in federal award funding for NFCC member agencies nationwide.
Helene is also Board Chair of The Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition – the only Maryland-based organization solely focused on improving the financial rights of working families -, and she serves on the Board of the Cooperative Processing Resources (CPR), a global provider of counseling software solutions. She was also recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC).
In her spare time, Helene enjoys camping and hiking with her two children, as well as learning how to play the guitar.

Susan Fitz, Vice President of Counseling, Programs and Compliance is responsible for the management of the agency’s grants. Mrs. Fitz has been managing large, multi-million-dollar grant programs originating from Federal, State and Local funders for 16+ years and has worked in the housing and credit education industry for 20+ years. Mrs. Fitz has a deep understanding of the intricacies and requirements of federal grant funding, including program and financial reporting, compliance, and tracking activities.

Emily Hickox is the Vice President of Marketing and Community Outreach at CCCSMD. In her role, she spearheads content creation, develops engaging marketing strategies, and connects with Government entities, nonprofit organizations and financial institutions to create strong partnership opportunities in the communities we serve. Emily’s passion for financial literacy, especially in underserved communities, is guiding her in starting new initiatives across the organization. Emily lives in northeastern Pennsylvania with her husband and two young children where she enjoys spending time camping and leading Sunday School at her local church. Emily likes to tell everyone she meets how important it is to live on a budget, not just in times of crisis, but all the time. She shares "A budget gives you control of your money and can help you plan and save for exciting things like a family vacation or buying a new home!

Judy MacKenzie is the Community Development Officer at CCCSMD in the Florida market. She has worked at various Consumer Credit Counseling Service agencies for 25 years, the past 4 years at CCCSMD. In her role, Judy is responsible for building key local community partnerships with nonprofits, government agencies and corporations whose mission aligns with CCCSMD. She is passionate about helping families achieve financial wellness. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, visiting family and painting. Judy wants everyone to remember that they control their financial future. If your employer offers a 401K plan, you should invest immediately. A 401K plan allows you to dedicate a percentage of your salary to a retirement account. These plans offer different tax advantages that you should take time to understand. Most importantly, if your employer offers matching 401K contributions, make sure you contribute enough to receive the full match.

Sandee Rains is a Community Outreach Manager at CCCSMD overseeing partnership engagement and education efforts in Florida. Sandee spent 33 years in the financial industry as a Vice President and Bank Branch Manager, Mortgage Originator and Business Development officer. Before joining CCCSMD, she was a Financial Educator for 13 years, facilitating homebuyer and financial workshops with responsibilities developing community partners for a nonprofit counseling agency. In her role with CCCSMD, Sandee enjoys connecting with prospective community partners to collaborate on continuing homebuyer and financial education classes, as well as the counseling services the agency offers. Sandee’s loves to share her advice on how to build credit:
- Always pay bills and existing lines of credit on time; even if you are only able to make the minimum payments.
- Make payments on existing credit cards more than once a month to reduce your balance faster.
- Pay down the entire balance on your credit card statement before the billing cycle ends.

Quintin Yarrell is the Training and Analytics Manager and is responsible for the development and implementation of all training needs for CCCSMD personnel. He joined the agency in October 2018 with over 13 years’ experience in customer service and 10 years’ experience in banking. He is an NFCC Certified Credit and Certified Housing Counselor.

Rose Perkins is the Quality Assurance Manager at CCCSMD. She has worked at various Consumer Credit Counseling Service agencies for over 16 years, the past 4 years at CCCSMD. In her role, Rose is responsible for building and maintaining outstanding customer service for our clients through call monitoring and auditing. She is also responsible for reaching out to every client that we serve to obtain their feedback. She is passionate about empowering the clients through financial advocacy by giving attention to their individual needs and goals thereby helping them make strong financial decisions now and in the future. When she is not working, she enjoys volunteering at her local church’s food pantry, spending time with family and gardening. Rose wants to share that setting a short-term and long-term goal is the most important step to moving forward financially. The other key factors are tracking spending and finding education about budgeting and credit.

Dan Grafius joined CCCSMD in 2017 as a Reverse Mortgage Counselor, responsible for educating clients on the HUD-insured reverse mortgage loan and how it pertains to clients’ specific financial situations. He has been continuously active on the HUD-approved list of Reverse Mortgage Counselors since 2004.
