More About Judy
Judy MacKenzie is the Community Development Officer at CCCSMD in the Florida market. She has worked at various Consumer Credit Counseling Service agencies for 25 years, the past 4 years at CCCSMD. In her role, Judy is responsible for building key local community partnerships with nonprofits, government agencies and corporations whose mission aligns with CCCSMD. She is passionate about helping families achieve financial wellness. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, visiting family and painting. Judy wants everyone to remember that they control their financial future. If your employer offers a 401K plan, you should invest immediately. A 401K plan allows you to dedicate a percentage of your salary to a retirement account. These plans offer different tax advantages that you should take time to understand. Most importantly, if your employer offers matching 401K contributions, make sure you contribute enough to receive the full match.
Sandee
Manager, Community Outreach,
Florida
More About Sandee
Sandee is a Community Outreach Manager at CCCSMD overseeing partnership engagement and education efforts in Florida. Sandee spent 33 years in the financial industry as a Vice President and Bank Branch Manager, Mortgage Originator and Business Development officer. In her role with CCCSMD, Sandee enjoys connecting with prospective community partners to collaborate on continuing homebuyer and financial education classes, as well as the counseling services the agency offers. Sandee’s loves to share her advice on how to build credit:
- Always pay bills and existing lines of credit on time; even if you are only able to make the minimum payments.
- Make payments on existing credit cards more than once a month to reduce your balance faster.
- Pay down the entire balance on your credit card statement before the billing cycle ends.
Armand
Manager, Community Outreach, Maryland
More About Armand
Armand is a Community Outreach Manager at CCCSMD overseeing all partnership engagement and education efforts. He is also a HUD-Certified Housing Counselor and is bilingual, assisting clients in English and Spanish. Additionally, he has over 25 years’ experience on credit related subjects and debt management programs and has been featured on radio stations for live on-air business talk shows and financial articles. Traveling is one of Armand’s passions, as he enjoys visiting different locales and he also loves the outdoors. Finally, he is a proud veteran of the US Armed Forces. Armand’s favorite financial tip is to track your expenses. Many people are unaware how much they’re spending until they begin actively and consistently tracking it. There are many online budgeting apps available that make it easy to track your spending and provide visually compelling charts to help you see where your money’s going. Mint, EveryDollar, Acorns and YNAB (You Need A Budget) are just a few of the reputable apps out there. Another method is using Excel or go do it the “old school” way of pencil and paper. The budgeting technique you use doesn’t matter; what’s important is that it works for you and that you stick to it and make it a habit!
